Dolly was purchased and added to our brood band early in 2006. At this time, Dolly is our only donkey who carries an unverified pedigree. It is rare for us to add a jennet to our herd without knowing any of her history, but Dolly's conformation and build compiled with her loving personality and beautiful markings made the decision to add her much easier. Although we've been trying to track her history down through the farm that originally registered her (TST), we've had no luck reaching them to pinpoint Dolly's parentage to date. Pedigree or not, she's had several very nice babies for us since coming here as a five year old. She was well worth the gamble!

Ivan was retained from our 2007 foals because of his build and his bloodlines. I knew the moment he hit the ground he was herdsire material and retained him from day one for our breeding program. Not only is he very handsome and built like a tank, he was also at the time unrelated to about 98% of our herd which was an added bonus. With the colors and small sizes in his background, particularly through his sire, Windcrest Java, we have looked forward to the arrival of Ivan's offspring each year.

Ivan has consistently sired small, compact, and correct foals. He has thrown his rich brown color, but also, we have gotten gray, brown, black, and spotted foals from him when crossed with a variety of brood jennets. He is used to being with a small group of jennets year round. We never allow our jacks to be alone - they always have company. Pasture breeding is all he has ever known and it works well for him.

Ivan is only being offered for sale at this time because we are cutting our herd size in half, going from 40 jennets to 20. We are selling all three of our breeding jacks and will replace them with one jack unrelated to any of our girls sometime in the future. Our loss is your gain! Lucky is a sweet, tiny jack who was rejected by his mother at birth. This was her first baby and she was overwhelmed not knowing what to do. She did allow us to milk her for the first 2 days and we bottle fed Lucky all of the colostrum he needed. Lucky is very sociable and friendly having been handled since taking his first breath. He is bottle fed milk replacer multiple times during the day and night and is thriving. Because it's so important for a bottle baby to have a donkey buddy to learn how to be a donkey from, he's been with other donkeys from the start. Most recently we put an adult jennet in with him to take him under her wing, and the pairing is working perfectly. She takes care of him and is teaching him, while we take care of the nutrition end of things. Lucky will make a wonderful pet for a very "lucky" family!

We knew the moment Kandace was born that she was a keeper. She was over the top friendly, gorgeous black in color, and conformation near perfect. Through the years, Kandace kept her excellent conformation and small size (she's only 31.25"!). Although she is registered as black with a cross on her paperwork, I don't know if she's a "true black" anymore like she was as a yearling. She is very dark, but more of a very, very dark brown hitting "maybe black" in the summer months when she completely sheds out. She also has a lot of red that comes out in the summer months.

Kandace is an excellent brood jennet in the prime of her breeding career right now, coming up on 10 years old in May of 2014.

She has had 2 foals for us, the first of which was a jet black w/NLP jennet, Rayzen Kane, who was sold to a breeder in the Netherlands as a breeding and show jennet. Her birth height was only 20 1/2"!

The second was a black jack, Thomas James, who was herdsire quality but sold with a group of 4 other boys as a pet gelding instead. Super sweet foal!

Kandace is in very nice shape. Because we scaled back our breeding program in recent years, Kandace has not been bred year after year so she has maintained her girlie figure! Her 2 foals were born in 2008 and 2010. Her babies were both super, super tiny, very friendly and sold very quickly. She has been exposed, once again, to our spotted jack, Tyger, for a 2014 foal. We are confident she has settled but she will be sold as having been exposed and not guaranteed in foal.

Bee is one of our most reliable brood jennets, being offered for sale now at a prime breeding career age of 11 years old. She was born here on our farm and has been an asset to our breeding program. Bee's paperwork has her listed as a black with cross. She does appear black, even with her heavy winter coat. In certain light you can see some deep brown in her coat. Since March 23, 2014, Bee has been pasture exposed to our spotted jack, Wits End Tyger Heart. This is a repeat breeding, a cross which produced the spotted 2013 jennet foal that we are retaining.

Tyger was purchased to cross with some of our spotted and black jennets in hopes of producing dark spotted foals. Combining his easy going demeanor with his impeccable pedigree, we thought we could not go wrong! Tyger has been a consistent spot and black producer for us. His babies are usually colorful, always friendly, and are built very well. Tyger is a gentleman with his ladies and for us as well when it comes time for trimming feet and general handling. He enjoys people and getting attention from them. He has definately been an asset to our farm!

It is with great hesitation we have decided to sell all three of our breeding jacks. We have kept so many of their jennet foals through the years, there is just too much of each of their bloodlines in our herd. The time has come to cut our herd size in half, sell all of our jacks, and start over with a brand new jack. Tyger is a sweetheart. We've had him since he was just a weanling and he's never disappointed us. I trust him around my children, and I trust him with my jennets. Tyger has had some gorgeous spotted foals for us. Suzy was born in September of 2011 to a first time mom who rejected her at birth. Although she didn't have any milk to offer, an older jennet of ours named Lucy took over care for Suzy, and ended up "raising" her all by herself. Well, with a little help from us bottle feeding milk replacer for 3 months!

Gabrielle also had a rough start. She was born in the pasture overnight, and in the morning when we found her, she had what appeared to be bite marks on her neck (from a dog, coyote, fox??? We really don't know). Her first few days were rough, but after some TLC from us and the Vet, she sprung right back. Today you would never know either of these girls had an unusual beginning!

We had planned on keeping both of these girls (who happen to be the very best of friends) to add to our breeding program. However, I'm not thrilled with their rear legs. Sometimes yearlings will go through an awkward "gangly" stage and once past it, their good conformation comes back. But in this case, I'm not seeing that happen. We held out offering them for sale all this time because we had high hopes for both of these girls, but the time has come to offer them both to a loving family together as pets.

Because they have become so bonded, we are only selling them as a pair at this time as pets, and they are not to be used for breeding. A beautiful start to our 2014 foaling season! Rosanna is a gorgeous jennet foal who is the total package. Shania had the honor of becoming the very first spotted jennet to be added to our herd back in 2001, thanks to my wonderful webmaster, Dayle!! Shania is my southern girl. Her bray is so distinct, it has a southern twang to it. I can pick her out of a lineup of 1000 donkeys blindfolded based on her bray alone, no doubt!

Shania has been one of our most reliable brood jennets through the years. Her pedigree is packed on her sire's side, going back to Luigi and various other imported donkeys multiple times. Her babies are always very friendly, just like her, and are typically small and gorgeous. Her last two spotted jack foals were spectacular. They were sold as pets but both could have gone on to breeding careers, they were that good.

Since we have owned her, Shania has given birth to 6 foals. Her dark brown and gray jennet foals were both sired by a black jack. Her gray jack foal was sired by a spotted jack. And, all three of her spotted jack foals were sired by our red jack, Buddy. She is once again being crossed with him for a 2015 foal. She has been pasture exposed to Buddy since March 23, 2014. Shania will be sold as "exposed" and not guaranteed in foal, however, she does tend to settle within the first few months of being exposed, so I would anticipate (but not guarantee!) an April or May 2015 foal.

Lucy and Murphy came to our farm together as best friends 13 years ago. They have both been an integral part of our breeding program through the years. Their babies have been outstanding and have gone to homes throughout the East Coast. Some are now breeding jacks, some are being shown, some are brood jennets, and some are just backyard pets. At 19 years old, these two ladies are ready for a retirement home, with someone who has the time to spend spoiling and pampering them like they deserve! They both are so very friendly and easy to handle. They enjoy children so if you have children that would be a plus. They both can easily be haltered and led by a child. They will also allow small children to sit on their backs and go for a walk.

I retired a handful of my "teenagers" a few years ago once my younger generation began taking over in the breeding department. Murphy and Lucy were two of those girls. Since then, Murphy has been bored, to be honest! She loved being a mother, and has more than once attempted to "steal" other jennet's babies! I feel badly for ending her motherhood career a bit early, but we simply had to cut down on the number of foals we were having. The other older jennets seem to be enjoying their retirement from breeding, but like I said, Murphy seems bored. I don't like having her feel useless, and would love to see her move on to a home maybe with children (or an adult!) to take her for walks and spend time brushing her, giving her treats, and keeping her busy. She is healthy, friendly, and ready for more attention than we are able to give her. Murphy is my "spunky old lady".

Lucy has given us many babies, and has always been a terrific mother to her foals and has always been a healthy jennet and easy keeper. As you can see by her photos, she is a bit chunky! Last year she took on a baby that wasn't even hers when that baby was rejected by her real momma. Lucy is very loving and very much loves attention. Lucy does have a neck roll, which happened years ago from gaining too much weight. Its nothing but a cosmetic flaw that honestly I don't even notice anymore. Several of my girls have suffered the same fate from weight gain after going through several pregnancies. Like Murphy, Lucy is very easy to handle. She will allow anyone to put a halter on her with ease, even my children, and lead her wherever you want her to go (as long as you aren't hiding paste wormer in your pocket! She can sense it, and she hates that stuff!) Lucy is perfect for the farrier as well. Both girls are microchipped and both are registered with MDR.

I will be picky about a new home for these two girls. They have worked hard for us all of these years and I will only be happy with them having the best situation possible for their retirement. They deserve it! Give us a call or email for more information or to come see Murphy and Lucy in person.

Buddy was purchased as a weanling from a farm in Ohio as a future herdsire for our farm. It seems as though in the blink of an eye, 12 years have passed since bringing this boy home! Over the course of his 10 year breeding career with us, Buddy has proven to be an integral part of our breeding program. He not only helped to build our herd year after year with quality jennet foals, but he managed to produce foals with his laid back attitude and friendliness that have basically sold themselves season after season.

Your breeding jack is the most important part of your breeding program. You want small size, nice color, correct conformation, excellent pedigree, and maybe the most important quality of all, a gentle, genuinely friendly personality to pass onto his foals. Buddy is all of these things wrapped up into one package. At 12 years old, and 32.5" tall, Buddy could do for you what he has done for us. He has helped us build a customer base of families that come back for a few more, or send their friends.. because his babies are just so nice.

At 32.5", he is wonderful for using with jennets in the 34" range, he always helps counteract the height and throws his small size and nice straight legs. Winnie is a super sweet girl, her personality replicates that of both her mother and her father. Winnie is as sweet as they come, and just like her momma, she is bigger than her friends but doesn't realize it! Winnie's dam, Annabelle, is our only unregistered "grade" donkey. She is half miniature and half standard and stands at 42". Winnie will likely mature in the 37" - 39" range, being 3/4 miniature. Because she is not 100% miniature, she will not be registered. Winnie has the personality of a golden retriever, and just loves attention. She does enjoy being with other donkeys but would also make a nice companion for a laid back pony or small horse. We don't often "approve" of letting one of our donkeys go to a home without other donkeys, but in this case it would probably work. Diascia is a sweet, sweet jennet who has been with us for 12 years, since she was 6 months old. We watched her grow up and have enjoyed having her on our farm. Diascia has had 4 foals for us through the years. Of those, 3 were black jacks and 1 was a gray jennet. Her foals are always very tiny and super friendly.

It is difficult to let grown jennets go who have been part of our farm family for such a long time. But, it is necessary for us to cut back as we have been slowly reducing our numbers over the past few years. Often when I get emails about adults for sale, people ask me "what's wrong with her?" Well, nothing. I wouldn't have kept a donkey for 12 years that had something wrong with her! We simply need to cut down.

Diascia is one of my girls who is super friendly, laid back, and sweet natured. I chose her to offer for sale because she would not only do well to continue on as a brood jennet for someone, but she would also do well to go on to a family home for someone looking for a friendly pet. She is very easy to handle and work around. She has never been without other donkeys for companionship, so I will not allow her to go to a home that does not offer at least one other donkey as a friend. I really hesitated putting these girls up on my for sale page. I generally like to "pick" homes for some of my special girls like these two, but thought I'd try putting them on here for a while and see how it works out. I realize they are a bit on the "older" side, but they certainly do not act "elderly"!! I retired these two from breeding about 2 years ago or so, when my younger crew came of age and we began relying more on them for foals. Peep I would not like to see have any more foals, despite the fact that she's an excellent mother and could certainly handle it. I guess I just feel she deserves acting like a grandmother now instead of having to chase after a baby! Barbara on the other hand I don't see a problem with having another foal or two, if you'd desire. She too has always been an excellent mother and her babies, like Peep's, have been perfect.

Peep and Barbara were two of our very first donkeys. We brought them home in 1999 from Pheasant Meadow Farms in Maryland (which is no longer there). I still remember walking into their field of so many donkeys and being surrounded instantly by dozens and dozens of longears! We went there to bring home two donkeys, but we came home with 4 that day. I'm so glad we did. Peep and Barbara have been awesome brood jennets for us over the past 13 years. They have paid their dues and now they really deserve a true retirement, in a smaller setting than what we have available, with less competition for attention. They are both very sweet, very easy to work with, and very healthy, easy keepers. I don't recall of ever having the vet here for these two for anything through the years other than routine vaccinations. They would particularly enjoy a retirement home with someone who has the time to brush them every day and bring them special treats on occasion, with a nice pasture to graze on.

We will let these two go to an approved home only. We would rather they stay here with us than us pass them along to someone not interested in being their last home. Peep and Barbara have lots of love to give (and don't forget many donkeys live well into their 30's, so they also have plenty of "time"!!) Cori is a beautiful 3 ½ year old jennet who was born here on our farm. Her rich dark brown color, almost black in the summer sun, mixed with her small size and nice build made her an exciting addition to our brood band. Cori had her first foal, Timothy James, on 4/4/10. We are very pleased with this little jack. We have decided, however, to offer Cori to a new home at this time because she had difficulty bonding with her newborn. While she allowed us to milk her and bottle feed little Timmy for several days, she would not allow Timmy to nurse so we have been bottle feeding him with powdered milk replacer ever since.

We've been told by several breeders that some jennets will reject a foal one year and the next year do just fine with a new baby. Others have had the jennet reject a second time and opted to sell the jennet as a pet. There is really no way of knowing what Cori's reaction would be to having future foals. We are offering Cori at a much lower price than we would otherwise and will let her future as either a pet or brood jennet up to you. She is extremely friendly and easy to handle and is the picture of good health. Cori was DNA tested as a foal, she is microchipped, registered, current on vaccinations, deworming, hoof care and selenium boosters. She is a sweetheart who will be missed here on our farm.

These two girls are the sweetest jennets, and so very easy to handle too. They were born here on our farm and came back to live with us as 2 year olds when their new owner decided he wanted horses instead. They were very spoiled at their first home, I have to say! They had a caretaker who led them out to their pasture every day, and led them back to their immaculate stall every night. Because of all the daily handling, they are easy enough for a child to handle. They stand perfectly still when you put the halter on, and they lead wonderfully. They are also good for the farrier.

I would love to see these two half sisters go to a small breeding farm, or simply as pets for a nice family. They are not the "throw in a large herd" type. Virginia had her first foal this year, and Melody was exposed to our jack Shorecrests Ivan, all last summer and fall. Virginia sells open, and Melody sells as "exposed" but with no guarantees that she has settled. Both girls are registered with MDR and both have been microchipped. Please don't ask me to separate them. They are so very, very happy when they are together. They are the very best of friends and really need to stay together!

I can safely say that Timmy is the most spoiled and most lovable donkey on our farm this spring. Timmy's mom rejected him at birth, so after she contributed to his well being by allowing us to milk the colostrum from her for him, she was turned back out with the other girls and little Timmy was left for us to bottle feed. Timmy has two surrogate "mom's" though. His 4 legged surrogate mom is an 8 month old jennet who we pulled from our weanling group and paired with him to help show him the ropes. She has been doing an awesome job both entertaining him by playing with him and by teaching him how to eat grain, how to pick at the grass and hay and how to drink from a water bucket.

Timmy's 2 legged surrogate mom is my own mother. She is the only one of us who is home all day, so she fell into the job of bottle feeding Timmy round the clock. Timmy drinks milk replacer from a baby bottle and at 1 month old, we've now started giving him foal-lac pellets which he's taking to quite well.

Timmy is active and social, he loves his people family and he loves the company of his donkey friend as well. When he is old enough to wean away from the bottle feedings and milk replacer, we know that we will have to separate him from his donkey surrogate "mom" and pair him up with another jack foal closer to his age. Although it will be so hard to see him go, we know that we will be looking for the perfect home for Timmy when the time comes. We would like to see him go to a home with a few donkeys, not a huge herd, at least while he's still in his weanling/yearling years. Timmy is so used to round the clock attention, we want his new home to be one that he will be given lots and lots of attention from his new owners.

As with all of our donkeys, we require Timmy to go to a home having at least one other donkey as a friend. Timmy will be given his first round of vaccinations when old enough and will also be registered prior to leaving our farm. Titan is thick boned and built like a Ford Truck (or... a Nissan Titan.. as the case may be!) He is so loveable and will make a terrific pet for someone. I expect him to mature out to 33-34" based on his background. He would make such a flashy driving or show donkey with his dark, dark color. He has a slightly visable cross at this time and the only color on him at all is an intermediate brown muzzle and a tiny bit of brown in his ears. The rest is all black. Titan can be weaned in August and as with all of our donkeys, he must go to a home having at least one other donkey as a buddy. Titan will be registered prior to leaving our farm.

Wow! This perfect little jennet is Molly's second foal, and is only Tyger's 5th. This was a combination we will definately repeat! Cynders is just plain awesome, for lack of a better description! Through her sire, Cynders has notable bloodlines including the likes of Sunset Acres Speedway Racer, My World Buster and even Circle C Little Motown (her great-great grandsire!). Cynders also boasts a full pedigree top and bottom on her dam's side going back to the imports. She will make a fantastic brood jennet one day, no doubt! Parker is a fantastic foal.. and wouldn't you know, we'd get this kind of color out of the only unregistered jennet we have on our entire farm! Annabelle is the product of a miniature donkey crossed with a standard donkey and is unregistered. Parker's sire, however, is a registered miniature donkey, making Parker about 3/4 miniature. This is the first foal we've had from Annabelle so we aren't exactly sure what to expect size-wise from Parker, but judging by his sire's height of 33.5" and his dam's height of 42", I'd venture a guess of Parker maturing in the 38" range. Parker is friendly as can be, and is gorgeous to look at. He would make a wonderful driving donkey or just a fancy pasture ornament. Must go to a home having at least one other donkey as a friend.

I kept Morgan from our 2002 foals, hoping that she would one day become one of our top brood jennets. Morgan matured into exactly what I had hoped for, maturing small at 32" and all the while, keeping her perfect conformation that she had as a foal. I did not expect to ever be offering her for sale to a new home, but sometimes unexpected things happen. In this case, we've been unsuccessful in getting Morgan to settle in foal the past several years. Morgan has been exposed to two of our jacks since 2005 when she turned 3 years old. She routinely comes in season, but has yet to settle in foal. I hate to feel like we are giving up on her too soon, but to be honest, we are looking to cut our herd down a little this year anyway, and although there are several tests we could have the vet do to with Morgan, we have chosen to offer her as she is, knowing that she's been pasture exposed for the past 3 years and has not yet come in foal. She will make a wonderful pet for someone, or if you have a jack and a small herd of jennets, take a chance on her and you may one day be surprised with a foal. She is otherwise healthy and up to date on all of her vaccinations (5-way, Rabies, WNV, Potomac) and is registered through ADMS as well. Morgan is used to being with other donkeys 24/7, so I will only allow her to go a home with at least one other donkey as a buddy.

Well, there is a story behind little Percy's unique name. When Percy was born, his mother had no milk. Percy was energetic from the get-go, but was so tiny, and would nurse and nurse, but we were concerned those first few hours because there was no milk bag. Worried about a lack of colostrum, we started calling everyone we could think of looking for equine colostrum. Finally, our vet came through and located some frozen Percheron mare milk. Yup -- this little guy got his first boost in life from a gigantic work horse mare!

The "fool" part of his name.. well, we diligently kept up per the vets instructions with the donated colostrum, despite the fact that litle Percy seemed full and didn't want it at all. He kept looking at us like we were darn fools! Somehow, although his mom didn't appear to have any milk, she must have released just enough for him and he most likely didn't need the donated colostrum at all. A few days after his birth, she was producing a normal, full milk bag.

Percy has been going strong ever since and is now looking for his new forever home. He would pair up nicely with our other jack foal, J.T. Both are characters, and would bring a ton of happiness to your family. Percy can be weaned at the end of January and delivery is available if needed.

Pryncess has beautiful markings, and her build is just as nice. Her full sister from 2006, Gypsy, has been maturing above our expectations, and her half sister, Baby, cannot be faulted in any way. We anticipate Pryncess doing the same following in both sister's hoofprints. She will be an asset to any brood band and should top out no bigger than 33". Pryncess is another foal in the running to possibly stay here as a future brood jennet. Betsy's foal are always so perfect, they are hard to part with!

This little girl is Dora's first foal. We had thought she was going to be gray like her mom, but she is actually a very light red. When Dorry stands alongside our gray donkeys, she stands out with her red tone. We think she will mature nice and tiny, most likely anywhere from 30-32" at most. Dorry has been spoiled since day one. She was born in extremely cold weather and things were very touch and go in the first 12 hours of her life. We had to bring the pair into our heated garage for warmth, dry her with a hair dryer and we bottle fed Dorry with colustrum milked from Dora for the first 6 hours or so because Dorry did not have the stength to stand on her own. Dorry took her first steps at about 6 hours of age, and has been going strong ever since! She is a bundle of energy and has that signature overly friendly personality you will find in most all of our foals. Dorry can be weaned in May or June and will be registered through the miniature donkey registry in Texas prior to leaving our farm. This little girl is Tyger's first daughter, and wow, is she ever nice! She is built solid, with a nice wide chest, short back and round rear. The best way to describe her is "thick". Katie has a lot of red highlighting especially around her face. She was black at birth so I'm not sure if she will shed out black or deep dark brown as she matures, but either way, she is gorgeous. Katie's older sister, Kandace, was retained in our herd and the two are almost carbon copies of one another. Kandace has exceeded our expectations, and we have no doubt little Katie will do the same.

Katie has ancestry that speaks for itself with LN, Lawzyday, My World, and Sunset Acres bloodlines dominating her full pedigree. There is really not much to improve on with this foal! It's awful tempting to keep her, but we have had 9 jennet foals born so far this year and only 2 jacks, so we are offering every foal for sale, even our favorites, as we try to decide which are our top picks to possibly retain in our herd!

Little Laurel was named after our veterinarian's farm: "Laurel Highland Farm & Equine Services". Our vet, Dr. Earley, helped to save Laurel's mom (Rosebud) for us when she was very, very ill 2 years ago. After thousands of dollars in testing, x-rays, ultrasounds, medications and keeping Rosebud at his place for weeks on end, Rosebud made a remarkable recovery. We're still not entirely sure what was wrong with Rosebud, but regardless, we feel Dr. Earley helped greatly in her comeback! So here you go Dr. Edward Earley... your namesake is here! (Good thing it wasn't a boy, because his name would have had to have been "Eddie")

Laurel is a fabulous little spotted jennet. She would make a wonderful candidate for the show ring! Laurel is gorgeous with her even spotting pattern on both sides, and she's got the "look at me, I'm a queen" personality to go along with her beauty too. Laurel is carrying heavy sorrel genes on her sire's side, and spots and sorrels on her mom's. Just look at all of the "red" just in her parents and grandparents lines! We're not exactly sure of Laurel's color. Some days she looks gray spotted, some days brown and then there are times we swear her spots look sorrel. I think this one will take some time to tell! Regardless of the color, she is nice and square, has an even bite and her rear legs are as straight as you could hope for.

Breeding Status: Laurel was exposed to Tyger throughout the end of 2006 but came back in season through out the spring of 2007. We have removed her from Tyger and placed her in with our youngest jack, Maplewood's 27 Jasper, for a possible summer 2008 foal. This will be her first baby!

Wow! This little jennet is my pick of the litter, she is fabulous! Cammie's got the whole package - size, color, pedigree, conformation and personality. Most of her is a dark slate gray and white, but she has some small patches with brown and on one side of her face she has a black patch of hair and a little black speckled though out her coat as well. She is camouflaged! If I keep any 2007 foals, this one will be it, she's absolutely perfect. Cammie is so very tiny, I'll be surprised if she reaches 32" at maturity. She will make an outstanding show and/or brood jennet. This was Calli's very first foal and we couldn't be happier!

We thought Tyger had outdone himself with his last daughter, Cynders, until this little bouncing bundle of fur came along! Rayzen is spectacular. She is so very tiny and yet has a perfect square build and awesome conformation just like her mom. Rayzen is Kandace's first foal and we are so excited to see the quality of foals we can expect from her in the future. We will be pairing Kandace up with Tyger again for an encore to be sure!

Rayzen is too cute, her photos don't do her justice. She doesn't have a speck of white on her except for a bit in her ears. I do think she has a visible cross, it is just difficult to detect at this point. Rayzen boasts a jam packed full pedigree, with notables including My World, Sunset Acres and Circle C Motown coming in through her sire and Lawzyday Cherokee, LN Redsonnehi, and LCR Valintino 50 just to name a few from her dam. Tiny sizes (all the way down to 29" Gladybrooke Skip) mixed with a rainbow of colors from spots to reds to grays, browns and blacks, make Rayzen's history as interesting as she is.

Nightshade quickly earned the nickname of "Nosey Nellie" after her arrival at our farm as a yearling straight from Dewey Meadows farm in New York. Nellie matured out a bit taller than we'd hoped, maturing to a solid 35" tall. We have decided that we need to cut our herd down at least a little this year, especially since I'm having a hard time parting with a few of my 2007 jennet foals! Because her height is taller than that of the rest of our girls, we have decided to offer this young, proven jennet to a new home at this time.

Nellie had her first foal, an uneventful pregnancy and delivery, on September 12, 2007. She had a gorgeous jennet foal with exceptional conformation and personality to spare, Shorecrests Elegance. Since Nellie had a fall baby, she has been given the winter off while nursing her foal and is currently open to breed to your own jack this coming spring. If she has not been sold by April 1st, however, I will be re-breeding her to our jack, Shorecrest's Little Buddy, for a 2009 foal and at that time, her price will go up. Nellie is up to date on all vaccinations, deworming, hoof care and selenium boosters.

Gemini has lived with us for a little more than a year, and in that time, has proven to us that donkeys really do have the personality of a St. Bernard! Gemini is a very, very friendly 6 1/2 year old jennet. Last year she had a gorgeous jennet foal for us named "Daydream". We also had the pleasure of owning a son of Gemini's, Jasper, who for a time we had retained as a future breeding jack because despite his "just being gray", he was so perfect in every way, we could not fault him.

Gemini build-wise has a thinner structure. She is not a short, compact, stocky donkey, but we can attest to the fact that when bred to a well conformed jack, Gemini produces foals that are stocky and have excellent conformation from head to tail. Gemini dropped in weight after the birth of her last foal who was weaned in November. Because we felt she was too thin, we chose not to re-breed her at that time so she is currently open. Gemini is still at this time not quite back up to the weight we'd like to see her at. We would very much like to see Gemini go to a home with just a few other donkeys rather than a large herd so that her new owners can help her to maintain her weight in a more one-on-one setting. We are finding that difficult to do in our herd of 45+ miniature donkeys.

You will not find a friendlier or easier to handle donkey than Gemini. If I didn't think she would benefit more from being in a smaller herd, I would never even think of offering her for sale. She's just that good.

Well, when we bred Shania (spotted) to Tyger (spotted) last year, we were kind of expecting, well, spots! Especially when considering their colorful ancestry. Little Noah decided to come out all solid gray to surprise us instead. He is cute as a button, just look at that face! I think his muzzle may go black. He started out with more white on his nose and it seems to be gradually disappearing. Since Noah's grandfather Racer has NLP, that is certainly a possibility. Noah should mature to around 33-34" and will make a perfect companion or cart donkey. He can be weaned the end of June and is looking to reserve a new home now! As with all of our donkeys, Noah will be registered and will only be placed in a loving new home having at least one other donkey as a friend.

One of the most unusual foals we've ever had, Punkin is a true Halloween treat! Her color is different than anything I've ever seen. Punkin is bright white, with dark eye rings on both eyes, and through her coat there are very light patches of red (pink). I had a gray and white foal years ago with the same "bleeding spots" and she eventually lost her spots and was considered Frosted Spotted White. I'm confident Punkin is going to do the same. As a weanling, she now appears totally white. We won't know what is underneath all of that baby fuzz for certain until she sheds out this summer. Regardless, Punkin is an adorable foal. She is stocky, shouldn't mature taller than 33", and is naturally friendly towards everyone. Her pedigree on her sire's side is filled with reds and lots of small sizes, so Punkin's future as a brood jennet is exciting. I had planned on keeping this foal, she was one of my 2007 "picks of the litter". With 16 foals expected this year though, I was talked into parting with Punkin and a few others I had not planned on selling in order to help reduce our numbers. Punkin is fabulous, her unique color will brighten up your pasture and her comical personality will brighten up your day!

Introducing "Toby"... we've had quite a few foals this year born with a red cast to their coat compliments of their sire, Buddy, but this little guy is full-out red, no question! The few sorrel foals I've had so far have been born light and matured darker. I'm guessing Toby will do the same. I would say his coat in person right now is a medium sorrel. It's difficult to capture his true color on camera, the sun plays tricks on the photos unfortunately. Regardless, he's a handsome little jack and should mature on the smaller side, around 32". He has a great build and even better pedigree behind him on both top and bottom, packed full with sorrels and small sizes. Toby will make a wonderful pet for your family!

Sophie is a very well balanced foal. She is one of the best proportioned foals we've ever had. She's got a nice short back, straight legs, and should mature into a fabulous brood jennet in the 33" height range. Color wise, Sophie sometimes looks dark brown with black legs, but other times she has a lot of red in her coat, and underneath the baby fuzz there is very dark brown/black. We've had a handful of foals this year that have had this same dark brown/red bay pattern at birth. One of them is shedding out black as we speak, so I have no idea what to say about Sophie's future color at this point! She has a good mix of blacks, spots and reds in her pedigree so it will be interesting to see what she can produce as a brood jennet.

This little girl is easily material for the show ring. If you want some new bloodlines to show now and later breed, this could be your girl! Sophie is a hard one for me to offer for sale, don't be surprised to see her come off my for sale page if not spoken for by weaning time!
